47. Delete the Apps Together
You're exclusive in every way that matters — and yet, on two phones, the apps sit installed, dormant, unmentioned: a pair of tiny embassies from single life that nobody has formally closed. Someone has to bring up the uninstall. Make the deletion what it should be: not a treaty inspection — a tiny ceremony.
inputstatus: exclusive — said out loud, both meant it. the apps: several, still installed, both phones. last opened: unknown, unasked. the topic: conspicuously unraised by two brave adults.22:04
wrong answerThe audit ('unlock your phone, let's see the home screen'), the silent unilateral delete performed AT them with meaningful eye contact (a ceremony of one is a performance), or checking whether their profile is still active via a friend's account (congratulations, you've invented surveillance with extra steps).✗ not delivered
accepted"Ridiculous little proposal: I haven't opened the apps since our third date and I'd genuinely enjoy deleting them together. Same couch, same moment, dramatic long-press, wobbling icons, the whole ritual. Are you in?"read 22:09 ✓✓
Constraints
- You go first with your own disclosure. 'I haven't opened them since X' is an offering; 'have YOU opened them' is a deposition.
- The ceremony is invited, not imposed. If they need a beat to think, that's a data point to receive gracefully, not a verdict to appeal loudly.
- No forensics before, during, or after: profile archaeology via friends' accounts is a trust violation dressed as due diligence.
- The deletion is symbolic, not custodial. Anyone determined to wander can reinstall in nine seconds — you're not removing the option; you're celebrating not wanting it.
- If the conversation surfaces a real mismatch about exclusivity itself, downshift to The "What Are We?" Conversation. The ceremony needs the treaty signed first.
Hints
- The apps still installed usually mean nothing — inertia, not intent. The conversation about them, though, means everything. Have the conversation; skip the assumptions.
- Deleting together converts an awkward audit into an inside joke you'll reference for years. 'Remember our uninstall ceremony' is elite couple lore.
- The strongest version carries zero anxiety: you're not asking them to prove loyalty. You're inviting them to celebrate a thing that already happened.
